About Vincent Garcia

Vincent turned six on March 6, 2009. While only five years old Vincent has accomplished much for his age. He has performed in front of large audiences at National and local festivals and events. Has placed in the top three competing against 11 year old peers. He has been featured on a television morning show ‘Good Day Sacramento’ and performed live on the broadcast CBS network. He has trained with and is mentored by a Power Ranger (Mike Chat), and a Kamen Rider (Mike Moh) and is active in acting and modeling.

Vincent recently tested and passed to receive his orange belt at the Xtreme Martial Arts World Headquarters. He trains weekly with World Class Instructors; Mike Moh (Kamen Rider), Salar Ghajar, Trampoline Instructor/Film Star Stunt Man and Stunt Coordinator John Ross, as well as the entire elite staff at the XMA World Headquarters..

Vincent will turn six in 2009 and is enjoying every moment of being a kid. When asked what he wants to do these days, it changes daily.. More than anything he wants to be in a Martial Arts movie, has noted that he wants to be a Fireman, a Policeman and even wants to do comedy. Recently(November 2008), Vincent and his younger sister Ria were casted for a comedy pilot that was filmed in Hollywood.

He takes great interest in Martial Arts and loves his family very much. Vincent took interest in TaeKwonDo the moment he stepped into the Edwards Black Belt Academy in Ceres, California. Vincent began classes at three and a half years old and during the first year enjoyed learning forms and spending time just being in class with the other children, all of which were older. He wanted to participate in something and the timing was perfect. He was encouraged by his instructors to learn a weapon and he began performing with the Bo Staff. He demonstrated great interest in the weapon and practiced often. As he developed his skills he was encouraged to compete and attend regional tournaments. As soon as Vincent was exposed to the tournament environment, he knew it was something that he wanted to pursue with passion. Vincent competed in two tournaments performing traditional forms and weapons while at the age of four in 2007.

In December of 2007 Vincent was doing so well that he was encouraged to consider learning a higher level fusion of martial arts performance and competition called XMA (Xtreme Martial Arts) which is another class of competition at the American Tae Kwon Do Association tournaments. At the time Vincent was doing so well that his instructors and school owner were confident that he would do well even though he was only four years old and would have to compete in the XMA eleven year old and under classification.

Vincent and his instructor Janie Edwards worked on a Bo Staff weapons routine in December and January, just two months prior to a regional tournament at the end of January of 2008 with hopes that if he did well, that the experience would prepare him for the Spring Nationals that was being held in Las Vegas a month later. Vincent worked hard for those two months and did well at his first tournament performing XMA in a class with individuals more than twice his age. The crowd loved him and he received much encouragement.

After showing signs of comfort and confidence, Vincent prepared for less than a few weeks prior to the 2008 ATA Spring Nationals event in Las Vegas. Prior to the Nationals, Vincent’s mom arranged for Vincent to visit the XMA World Headquarters in North Hollywood where he auditioned prior to the Nationals event the week prior to arriving in Las Vegas.

Vincent met with Mike Chat, the founder of XMA (Xtreme Martial Arts), seven time forms and weapons World Champion, former Blue Power Ranger, movie, commercial and martial arts visionary. Mr. Chat was very encouraging to Vincent and suggested that while he was out at the Nationals he may have time to see Vincent perform. Low and behold, he managed to stop by and he watched Vincent perform XMA weapons in his corner during the 2008 Nationals.

Vincent was invited by Mr. Chat to attend the XMA Camp held at the XMA World Headquarters in North Hollywood in April of 2008 and has been back numerous times to train over the course of the past three months. The experience of meeting Mike Chat and training at the XMA World Headquarters with all of the elite staff at the XMA World Headquarters has fueled his passion immensely. Vincent hopes to become a world champion and make movies like his favorite stars…Mike Chat, Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Spongebob (yes, Spongebob).

Vincent is very enthusiastic about his classes, the forms and training that he is learning. He loves to emulate the Power Ranger television program characters, and he takes time to teach his younger sister moves and forms. He constantly asks when will be the next tournament as he really enjoys performing his routines. Vincent loves the spotlight, the praise and reaction from audiences. He asks daily to remind him when his classes are or when he will be attending private lessons with his instructor Miss Janie Edwards. Vincent attends classes three days a week and more prior to testing and tournaments. Vincent loves practicing with his weapons and recently added the sword for his weapon of choice in his Tiny Tigers tournament performances. In 2007 and up to the Nationals 2008 his weapon of choice was the BoStaff. Recently he has been adding Kamas to his weapons list.

Recently Vincent has performed at numerous events with his school at ‘Xmas In the Park’, ‘The Ceres Street Faire’, ‘Modest Car Show’, ‘Charter Summit Cinco De Mayo Festival’ and ‘Hooligan’s Motorcycle Street Show’.

He was featured on a Toyota Prius commercial, a comedy pilot along with his little sister in both outings.. he has auditioned and performed for various production companies, as well as reading parts for casting in Universal Pictures movie efforts. Vincent is well on his way to what he loves to do most, perform.
